Hello everyone! My Blackfoot name is Gentle Woman. My English name is
Santia Bear Chief-Medicine Shield. I am Miss Siksika 2024-2025! I dance
Woman’s Fancy Shawl, I’m 21 years old, and I graduated High School in
2022. I was honoured to receive the Governor General’s Academic Medal
that same year, thanks to my impeccable grades.
I recently graduated from
Eton College in Vancouver, British Columbia. Eton College is a private
institution that specializes in preparing young ladies for the tough job of
being a Flight Attendant. I moved away in 2023 to pursue my dreams of
wanting to travel the world and visit every country. I am now a certified
Flight Attendant! However, I will be returning back to school to attend
University for my Degree in Law after I give up my crown next summer. I
want to be a Criminal Defense Laywer.
I will be applying to University of
Toronto, University of British Columbia, and McGill University. My parents
are Brandi and Joey Bigtobacco. My grandmother, Alvina Bearchief raised
me, I’ve been beside her all my life. I love to travel, dance and sing. I dance
for my family, for those who can’t, and for those we lost.
It was such an honour to have been chosen as the new title of Miss
Siksika. I will wear my crown with Respect, Love, and Kindness.
Thank you to all my family and friends for encouraging me to run for
Princess, I wouldn’t have done it without my HUGE support system.
I can’t wait to get out there and start being an Ambassador for Our Nation!
I want to encourage Our Youth to chase their dreams, travel the world while
they’re still young and have their whole lives ahead of them. Most
importantly, I want to encourage them to stay in school. Education is our
Buffalo: Providing us with so many Opportunities, Knowledge, Food,
Clothes, and Shelter. I am proud to be from Siksika Nation and I can’t wait
to be an excellent role model for our nation as a whole.
